6月に交換留学生や他の事情があり、参加が難しくなるメンバーが多数いることと、
メンバーの入れ替わりの時期でもあるため、
6月10日をもって、今年度の若武者in Leidenを解散することになりました。
普段から打ち合わせをさせて頂いているお宅で、
いつも活動を共にしているメンバーも、今回新しく来た方も含めて、座談会といった形になりました。
この忙しかった3カ月を振りかえるビデオを作ったのですが、
このビデオは今後公開するために現在編集中です。
若武者での活動で、高校生から社会人、博士課程の研究者、交換留学生、オランダ現地の人々と
街や国、年齢や性別を超えて関わることができました。
今回一番大事だったのは、メンバーが自分の能力、特性、性格を活かして
自分の国に何かしようと働きかけたこと、
周りのメンバーと協力して、支えあってきたことだったと個人的に思っています。
3．11東日本大震災の被害を受けている方はまだたくさんいるし、
今後時間を要することです。
ライデンには今後様々な場所で新しい生活を始める人も、新しい一年で気持ちを切り替えて過ごす人もいるのですが、
今後も個人の生活の中で、「日本のために何かしたい」という思いを忘れずに進んでいってほしいと思います。
いつもサポートして頂き、ありがとうございました。
なお、来年度の若武者 in Leidenの活動は、大学やオランダのシステムに合わせて8月から開始予定です。
これからも応援よろしくお願い致します。
被災地にいる人々が一人でも多く、早く生活を立て直すことが出来ますように…。

On June 10th, we had decided to end the year of our acitivity. It is because there are quite many members who have to move on thus become difficult to participate, and also it is the season of changing members.
We have made a video that introduce and summarize our activities of the past few months, however, it is still editing.
It was a home party in a house where we usually have our meetings with the members who had been working together and the guests.
Throughout the activities, we were able to interact with people regardless of age, city of residence, country and ethnicity.
The most important thing about our activity was that,
we are normal students but each of us sought of what he/she can do for our home even though we are far away,
using their attributes, personality and abilities.
This same thought united us, and became supportive not only to each other but also to people around Leiden and other areas of the Netherlands.
There are still many victims who are suffering from 3.11 Japanese Earthquake,
and it will take years.
In Leiden, members are going to move to another place or start the new year,
however, I want all the members to move on to their paths with the firm thought of "what he/she can do for Japan".
Also, WAKAMUSHA in Leiden starts the activity for 2012 from this August along with the Dutch curriculum and schedule of the universities.
Please keep supporting our activities!
We hope that the victims can recover from the pain and the traumatic experience and set up their daily lives as soon as possible.

【2011年5月29日Japanmarkt in シーボルトハウス報告 // REPORT: May 29th, 2011. Japanmarkt in Sieboldhuis】
チャリティーコンサートの2週間後にはライデンにあるシーボルトハウスで、Japanmarktが行われました。
Japanmarktは2000年に日本の天皇が訪問した時以来、毎年日本文化の紹介も兼ねて日本の食品、陶芸などの物品を売るマーケットとして知られています。

カレーの準備だけでなく、東北地方に関するポスターも展示していました。
情報の少なさ、偏りから「東北は危ない」という先入観もある中で、
白神山地、岩手のリアス式海岸などを紹介しました。
本来の日本の自然の良さを持っている東北をもっと知ってもらえたらと思いました。
様々な商品が売っている中で、
日本食というと「寿司」しかあまり知られてないからか、カレーライスはオランダ人のお客様には珍しかったようです。
大好評で、30合近く炊いたお米がわずか2時間ほどで売り切れました。
ご飯を追加しても追加しても10分以内で使い切りました。
今回売り切れのため、カレーが食べられなかった方、申し訳ございません。
そして、今回手伝ってくださった皆様、ありがとうございました。

Generally, when people think of what a typical Japanese dish is like, most people think of Sushi.
Apparently, Japanese curry rice is not familiar to Dutch and other non-Japanese customers.
As a result, it was sold so quickly that about 30 pots of cooked rice disappeared in two hours.
Every time we added rice from the nearby kitchen to the booth, we ran out in ten minutes.
We are very sorry for those who could not get to taste the Japanese curry.

若武者Wakamusha in Leidenは、この度日本人バイオリニストとオーケストラによるチャリティーコンサートを主催することとなりました。

今日はライデンから約1時間半ほど離れた場所にあるティルバーグの子供達からの
心温まるニュースの報告です。ティルバーグの小学校の子供達から、被災地である日本・宮城県女川町の子供たちに宛てた募金と共に、メッセージと絵の贈り物が届きました。

Lochtenbergh School Tilburgは約15カ国の子供達が在籍する小学校です。もともと、小学校の子供達が「日本のために何かをしたい」と動こうとしており、その様子をみた、Lochtenbergh School Tilburgで教鞭を取っていらっしゃるMarijke Slijpen様、その娘さんであるMarike van Aerde様からの提案で、今回オランダの小学校から絵とメッセージが被災地の子供達へと送られることになりました。子供達も限りがあるであろうお小遣いから、募金を自ら募ってくれたそうです。子供たちにとって遠くの国への問題意識の強さ、そして「日本への何かしたい!!」という思いに、メンバー皆驚きつつも、感動していました。全て、素敵な絵と素敵な笑顔です。慣れない日本語も頑張って書いてくれたところが健気ですね。

Lochtenbergh School Tilburg is a primary school where children from about 15 countries study. Originally, everything started when the children of the school became motivated to help Japan in some means. Seeing the children's motivation, Mrs. Marijke Slijpen, a teacher in Lochtenberh School Tilburg, and her daughter Marike van Aerde suggested to send drawings and messages to children in the disaster-stricken area. According to them, the children voluntarily collected donation out of their limited amount of pocket money. Our members of Wakamusha were surprised and also touched by how children concerned about a country that is far away from them, and their thoughts toward what they can do for people there. Everyone has shiny smiles and has created original pictures. It is thoughtful of them that some of them attempted to write in Japanese they are not used to.
We would like to show our appreciation toward Mrs.Marike van Aerde, who suggested us the project, Mrs. Marijke Slijpen, who helped us throughout the project, all children and their parents who supported us and the children in Japan. Thank you all very much.For the drawings, we would like to upload on this blog once the scanning has finished.

１曲目は、バイオリニストの後藤祐美さんの引き込まれるようなソロ演奏から始まりました。
2曲目はHeemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkestraの皆さまが2月から練習していたという、本格的なオーケストラの曲を聴くことができました。
コンサートの最後に会場全体で日本語で「ふるさと」を合唱しました。
この「ふるさと」がうたわれている景色に、東北の山々や澄んだ川が流れる様子を思い浮かべた人も多いのではないでしょうか。
普段日本語に慣れていないオランダ人のお客様も、ローマ字の歌詞カードを見ながら口ずさんでいました。
1時間のみでしたが、クラシック音楽に普段から接している人も接していない人も楽しめる盛りだくさんな内容でした。
参加した人々が、「自分たちのできることから被災地の方々のためになにかしたい」という思いが伝わる、
とても温かい雰囲気に包まれていたコンサートでした。
今回チャリティーコンサートのことを紹介して下さった後藤祐美様、演奏して下さったHeemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkestraの皆様、場所を提供して下さったDorpskerkの方々、参加して下さった皆さま、

This charity concert took place in a church located in Amstelveen, where most of the Japanese residents of the Netherlands live.
As a result, there were many groups of Japanese family, workers and Dutch couples came to our concert.
The concert started with the breath-taking solo performance of a professional violinist, Ms.Yumi Goto.
The second piece was a genuine piece played in many orchestras, which the musicians in Heemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkestra had been practicing since this February.
At the end of the concert, all the participants sang "Furusato", which means "my home", a well-known Japanese folk song in Japanese.
There are some parts of "Furusato"that depict green mountains and clear rivers of the traditional Japanese village.
These parts must have reminded some people of the scenery of beautiful view of Tohoku province, where the earthquake has attacked.
The concert was only an hour long, however, it was a fulfilling content for the audience regardless of how familiar they are to classical music.
It was a heartwarming concert, as all the participants put thoughts and an effort toward what they can do for the victims in 3.11 Japanese Earthquake in the form of a charity concert.
We would like to show our deep appreciation for Ms.Yumi Goto, musicians in Heemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkestra, people who is taking care of Dorpskerk, and those who were supporting our charity concert.

Hello everyone!
I am deeply sorry about the delay in updating.
May and June were the busiest and the most active season of final exams and moving on for students in Leiden... and so were for WAKAMUSHA in Leiden.
Today, I would like to report about the charity concert in Amstelveen, sponsored by WAKAMUSHA in Leiden.
[DATE]May 15th, 2011. (20:00 - 21:00)
[PLACE] Dorpskerk, Amstelveen
[PARTICIPANTS] Heemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkestra, about 10 helpers from WAKAMUSHA in Leiden, and the audience (65 people).

[REPORT]
This charity concert took place in a church located in Amstelveen, where most of the Japanese residents of the Netherlands live.
As a result, there were many groups of Japanese family, workers and Dutch couples came to our concert.
The concert started with the breath-taking solo performance of a professional violinist, Ms.Yumi Goto.
The second piece was a genuine piece played in many orchestras, which the musicians in Heemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkestra had been practicing since this February.
At the end of the concert, all the participants sang "Furusato", which means "my home", a well-known Japanese folk song in Japanese.
There are some parts of "Furusato"that depict green mountains and clear rivers of the traditional Japanese village.
These parts must have reminded some people of the scenery of beautiful view of Tohoku province, where the earthquake has attacked.
The concert was only an hour long, however, it was a fulfilling content for the audience regardless of how familiar they are to classical music.
It was a heartwarming concert, as all the participants put thoughts and an effort toward what they can do for the victims in 3.11 Japanese Earthquake in the form of a charity concert.
We would like to show our deep appreciation for Ms.Yumi Goto, musicians in Heemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkestra, people who is taking care of Dorpskerk, and those who were supporting our charity concert.

【2011年4月23日 若武者主催チャリティーコンサート 練習風景報告 // REPORT: April 23rd, 2011. Benefiet Concert Muziek voor Japan behind the curtain...】
こんにちは!最近暑いですね。
今日は前回のブログでお知らせした若武者主催のチャリティーコンサートの練習風景を見学しに行きました!

Heemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkestは45年間続いてきた歴史のあるオーケストラで、プロとアマチュアの演奏者たちが集まっています。毎週土曜日に集まり、年に数回国内・外で行われるコンサートのために練習をされてます。

日本にも数回演奏ツアーの一環で訪問したことがあるほか、日本に旅行したことがあったり、日本に友人がいるなど個々のメンバーがそれぞれ日本に様々な形で関与していたそうです。そのため全体的に日本へのチャリティーコンサートに対してモチベーションが高いように感じました。
このコンサートで使われる曲は2月から練習してきたそうです。
練習風景だけでも鳥肌ものの演奏、日本人プロバイオリニストである後藤祐美さんのソロ演奏など、期待できるものがたくさんあります。年齢・性別・国籍関係なく楽しめるコンサートになりそうです。

Heemsteeds Philharmonisch Orkest is an orchestra with a history of 45 years of performance. It consists of both professional and amateur players. The members meet every Saturday to practice for concerts that are held both inside and outside of the Netherlands.

The orchestra itself has visited Japan for several times as a part of concert tours. Not only that but also, many members have traveled to Japan or have friends in Japan. As a result, the players in the orchestra are overall positive and highly motivated about performing for a charity for Japan. The members have been working on music pieces that are going to be performed on May 15th since February 2011.
One mere practice session with a solo performance by a Japanese professional violinist Ms.Yumi Goto was enough for me to make the audience have the goose bumps. There are many pieces and moments we can expect high for.
It will be a concert which people from all ages, gender and nationality can enjoy.

【2011年4月15日シンゲルロープ チャリティーマラソン 報告 // REPORT: April 15th, 2011. Charity marathon at Singel loop marathon】
皆様こんばんは。引き続き、ライター蓬生がお送りします。
4月15日はとても活動の多い一日でした。
この日の夜、ライデンでマラソン大会が行われ、私たち若武者メンバーもチャリティーマラソンとして出場しました。
【日時】2011年4月15日(19:30 ~ 20:30)
【場所】シンゲルロープ(NUON駐車場より6.2km)、ライデン
【参加人数】ランナー：9名 応援者：3名
【合計金額】411.72ユーロ
【寄付先】WFP(国連世界食糧計画) *自分たちの募金を「今」必要とする人々に出来る限り早く届けたいという意向、そして国連の一組織であるという信頼性より。
*前回と同様。
今回はランナーが事前にスポンサーシートを持ち、「6.2km完走するランナーを応援する気持ち」としての募金を集めて回りました。オランダのマラソン大会ではよくある活動だそうです。大会当日、ランナーは背中に"Run For JAPAN"という若武者君オリジナルゼッケンをつけて走りました。
中には「高校の体力テストで走った1000mが限界だった」というランナーもいた中で、皆それぞれのペースでゴールにたどり着きました。
参加していた他団体の中で、オランダ人の団体で日本を応援している趣旨の言葉が書いてあるTシャツを着ていた団体を2ー3チーム見かけました。オランダの人々もマラソンという生活の一部のイベントを通して日本を応援しようとしており、メンバーも若武者内だけでなく知らなかったところで現地の方々に支えられていることを改めて実感しました。Tシャツや応援する気持ち、そして声援も間接的に日本を支援するものとなっていくのでしょう。オランダならではの応援の仕方でした。

At the evening of April 15th, WAKAMUSHA in Leiden participated in a marathon meeting as a part of our charity campaign that took place in Leiden.
[DATE] April 15th, 2011. 19:30 ~ 20:00
[PLACE] Singel loop (starting from a parking lot of NUON), Leiden.
[NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS] Runners: 9, Supporters: 3
[TOTAL AMOUNT COLLECTED] 411.72 euro
[DESTINATION] WFP (World Food Program)

This time, runners collected donation by collecting signatures from people who supported them to complete the 6.2 km marathon before the meeting. According to experienced runners, this is a typical way of collecting funds in the Netherlands. On the day of the marathon meeting, runners wore our original outwears that says "Run for JAPAN".
*OUR ORIGINAL OUTFIT*
There were several runners who had less experience on running; one runner's maximum length was 1000 meters in a sports test which all Japanese high schools are required to do. Nevertheless, every runner was able to arrive at the goal by their own.
Among other teams that participated in the meeting, there were several teams whose members wore T-shirts with quotes about supporting and praying for Japan. We learned how people in Holland think of Japanese earthquake in occasions we have never know, and how they are trying to support recovery of Japan through events in their daily lives just like in this marathon meeting. These care and thoughts will indirectly become a motivation for Japan to stand up again.I thought T-shirts and collecting donation before the meeting were unique ways Dutch people cheer for the runners.
Thank you very much for those who supported the runners through your donations or on the way to the goal. We WAKAMUSHA in Leiden feel your unconditional support.
Congratulations for all runners who completed the marathon!
